By now, most Quentin Tarantino fans are aware of the connections interlaced throughout all of his films. John Travolta’s Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction is the brother of Michael Madsen’s Vic Vega in Reservoir Dogs, Harvey Keitel’s Mr. White worked with Alabama from True Romance, the plot basis for Kill Bill is described as the synopsis for a TV series in Pulp Fiction, etc.
Now the epiphany that Eli Roth’s character of Donny Donowitz aka “The Bear Jew” in Inglourious Basterds is the father of the movie producer Lee Donowitz in True Romance has inspired a truly mind-blowing theory that the rest of the films (chronologically speaking) in Tarantino’s filmography take place in a world where [Inglorious Basterds spoiler] World War II came to an end when Adolf Hitler was brutally murdered in a movie theater by the Basterds.
This initial connection was brought up in an article on Cracked, but a poster on Reddit (via David Chen’s Twitter) has more eloquently summed up what this means for Tarantino’s movieverse:
As it turns out, Donny Donowitz, ‘The Bear Jew’, is the father of movie producer Lee Donowitz from True Romance – which means that, in Tarantino’s universe, everybody grew up learning about how a bunch of commando Jews machine gunned Hitler to death in a burning movie theater, as opposed to quietly killing himself in a bunker. Because World War 2 ended in a movie theater, everybody lends greater significance to pop culture, hence why seemingly everybody has Abed-level knowledge of movies and TV. Likewise, because America won World War 2 in one concentrated act of hyperviolent slaughter, Americans as a whole are more desensitized to that sort of thing. Hence why Butch is unfazed by killing two people, Mr. White and Mr. Pink take a pragmatic approach to killing in their line of work, Esmerelda the cab driver is obsessed with death, etc. You can extrapolate this further when you realize that Tarantino’s movies are technically two universes – he’s gone on record as saying that Kill Bill and From Dusk ‘Til Dawn take place in a ‘movie movie universe’; that is, they’re movies that characters from the Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, and Death Proof universe would go to see in theaters. (Kill Bill, after all, is basically Fox Force Five, right on down to Mia Wallace playing the title role.) What immediately springs to mind about Kill Bill and From Dusk ‘Til Dawn? That they’re crazy violent, even by Tarantino standards. These are the movies produced in a world where America’s crowning victory was locking a bunch of people in a movie theater and blowing it to bits – and keep in mind, Lee Donowitz, son of one of the people on the suicide mission to kill Hitler, is a very successful movie producer. Basically, it turns every Tarantino movie into alternate reality sci fi. I love it so hard.
fuckkk.
This is pretty awesome.
Wow.
My mind hurts. This is crazy.

NBC’s Community may be in a state of potential cancellation, but before I dive deep into my art hole on new year client-projects, I wanted to knock out something fun. If you’re not a fan of the show already—get on it.

Actually the best thing ever!
Haven’t posted in a while, and don’t intend to post much more, but here’s a picture I took last week with my new camera
Well lately I’ve been a bit off with tumblr, I guess I finally realised it’s not for blogs, but more like either, status updates, or just generally posting other peoples photos, so I’m pretty much giving up on here. I may have a bigger chance of getting out there using this, but I’d rather blog on a blogging platform, such as wordpress.
Which is the purpose of this mini blog. I’ve moved to wordpress now and have around 4 blogs already up, so if you have a wordpress, or generally just want to take a look, then here’s the link http://musicliam.wordpress.com/
I doubt this will be my final post on here, but it’ll certainly be on the back burner compared with wordpress, so if you like what I write about, then there is where to look.
Thanks to all the people who followed me for my blog, and not just a follow back, I hope you’ll join me over on wordpress.
Thanks :)

Well today I was looking for me old k-nex set, since I need the gears from it. Alas I couldn’t find more than one, but I’ll find some tomorrow hopefully. Anyway, that gave me a good chance to mess around with all that stuff, and I ended up making a mock-up of a follow focus unit out of meccano.
Something pretty cool happened as well! I was looking through a few old boxes and I found an old nikon slr with a 35mm prime lens on it, which it tre good, although I’m not gonna use it really. When I get a new camera I may get a canon to nikon adapter and see if the 35mm lens is any good.
Anyway, pretty boring day today other than that, went to b and q to see if they had the metal bits I needed, which they didn’t. And then I got some new t-shirts from tk maxx.
Bit of a boring blog today sorry. The last two have been really, but ah well, not like anyone follows me! Haha.
Anyway thanks for reading :)

Well I thought it was a bit weird, well only a little really, how I come to making a proper decision about buying expensive things, like the camera I mentioned in a previous post.
Well the reason I’ve realised what I do, since I just do it without thinking normally, is that I have changed my mind on the camera… again.
Well I still want one, which is the main thing. Just, since I want an slr for mainly video, which nowadays is a real alternative option to a camcorder! So no, nur nur-ing at me! But I decided I now want the 600D, it’s only an extra £50 and has a flip out screen and adjustable audio settings, which I need really for video. I’m still gonna learn proper photography, well as proper as I can.
But anyway, the point in this post.
Well I started out with only one camera on my list on word, which soon became two, and then three… Well it may have started like that, but now it’s 7 pages long.
Well I added one more camera to the list, but I thought, well if I’m gonna get an slr, I’m gonna do my research like I normally do. So my word document consists of all the pros and cons of the cameras, prices and links to buy on amazon. On top of that I then have all the accessories I want, listed. Which I’m gonna have to wait a while for, but oh well, it’s good to know where I want to go with it. I also have a plan written out for me to custom build my own shoulder mount.
This is what I’m like basically, if it looks simple, but it’s expensive, I’ll make it, haha. I rekon my design is better than some of the massively expensive ones, since it’s gonna be completely adjustable, but then, that’s if it ever even happens, which I hope it will.
Anyway, that’s enough of this pointless blog. To cut a long story short, I’m gonna get the 600D rather than the 550D.
Thanks for reading :)

I’ve decided that I’ve had enough of not owning a camera, so I’ve decided I’m gonna get one at my birthday. I was planning on doing a bit of saving and getting one at Christmas which is 2 months earlier than my birthday, but a key thing for me is video. In face to stop any confusion, I’ll say what cameras I’m thinking about.
Well I started wanting the Pentax K-R, but then I discovered the Nikon 3100 was a little cheaper and a bit better, doing full 1080p rather than only 720p. If I wanted either of these, with a bit of saving I could get it at Christmas, but then I saw the Canon 550D or Rebel T2i, whichever you want to say. It does the best video, pictures, and also has an external mic input, which for video is pretty important, so I’ve decided that’s the one I’m gonna get.
I know they’re only entry level, but to be honest, It’s all I can afford, and also does more than decent quality images and video, so it’ll suite me just fine.
I’ve also made a new youtube channel. The username Ukitarmanliam I decided was pretty crap really, and when you look at most channels that do covers etc, they tend to just have a cool name. I’ve not exactly come up with an amazing name, but it got in my head, and I thought it sounded cool, so my new username is Peppersaur, as in a pepper pot with T-rex arms and legs, so of course it’s awesome.
I’m not gonna post anything at all on there yet. A big thing for me is making it look professional, which means a good camera, not my webcam. So this links to the 550D. When I get it, I’m gonna start posting video of covers, and maybe try and make some mini films, I’m not completely sure yet, since I’m not good at fancy editing, I can only do normal editing really.
Well if that channel takes off at all then I might change Musicliam on here to Peppersaur, but not yet.
Anyway thanks for reading. If you’re an slr buff and can give me a better option for a camera of the same price or less then please send me a message, I’ve got a while to decide yet.
Thanks for reading :)

Just re watched ‘The Social Network’, still one of my favourite films. Not because it’s anything new, or has an amazing story, I mean don’t get me wrong, it is interesting, but enthralling, not so much. I like it mostly because it’s so relevant to mine, well our, generation, or generations. I mean really it’s a teen coming of age drama, just coming of age a bit, well, a bit differently, but coming of age nonetheless.
Watching it does make me think how the next big thing could just be one idea away, but realistically, to make the next big thing on the internet, you either need, A) to be an amazing programmer/web designer, or B) know and amazing programmer/web designer, so really I’ve come to the conclusion that in 10 years time there isn’t going to be a Liam movie. Although it would be awesome, but probably not for you.
So then I got thinking well what will be next to take the world by storm, and I came to this conclusion.
Fuck knows.
As I stated before I am not, and don’t know an amazing programmer/web designer.
Sorry for leading you on there.
But then I know there will be something. I mean facebook came out of nowhere right? And it wasn’t really something we thought we needed, or would’ve ever though we would become so dependent on. Sort of like tumblr, except tumblr is addictive for a different reason. Whereas facebook is addictive for the posts, basically facebook stalking to put it bluntly, but not quite that simple, but I’m getting off track and you know what I mean. Tumblr however I believe is addictive for a different reason, one that it looks like most do through other people on here. Re blogging and such. I think tumblr is so good because it let’s you express you without having that judging side being there, which by that I mean, well if I was using facebook, I wouldn’t type any of this, because I know right away people would comment on it calling me, or I’d get no response whatsoever, which is both good and bad. Well mostly bad, since it shows facebook is used mainly to garner some kind of response and recognition from your friends from doing basically nothing.
Back on track.
But tumblr however, you, or rather I find, that I’m not trying to impress you, no offense, but I’m rather trying to see what I would write. Now that sounds silly, and also a little self righteous, but what I mean is that I rarely get to properly express what I’m thinking so openly like this. Tumblr seems like a place where you can type whatever and it doesn’t matter if no one reads it, or is lots of people read it and decide they hate you for it. It just seems like I can freely put anything, which is good you know, until you let it get to you. Which I’ve seen a couple that did, and they made themselves look a little foolish, well a lot, but I’ll leave it there.
On a side note, I think I need to get back to uni, a few friends seem to be getting a bit quiet with me, and I don’t want them too, so Uni might be good.
Hope you enjoyed, I’m not sure if it made sense, but I’m not editing or re reading, off the cuff is kinda my thing.
Thanks for reading :)

You ever have one of those times where you’ll just sit there and bask in nothingness.
Well, that’s been my last hour or so, don’t worry, it’s not a depressing blog, far from it really, but I just though I should share.
I should perhaps give a background to my day, as to avoid alluding to anything, I suppose, anyway. I watched Submarine today. If you didn’t know, it’s by Richard Ayoade or Moss in the IT Crowd. I do believe it’s his first major directorial piece, and I have to say it was properly brilliant, you should definitely watch it if you haven’t already.
But that’s just a backdrop to today.
I’m particularly trying to go anywhere here, just so you know. It’s pretty much just a run of the mill talking bollocks session, as is usual.
But I suppose I should expand on my original point anyway. Well I tend to do this a lot, since in my area I don’t know many people, so I get lots of time to my self. I know, que the violins and forever alone image. In this time I do many things, play games, watch TV, internet of course, and music. But also one of the things I tend to do is get lost in my thoughts. It’s weird, but I’m sure it’s not, as most likely everyone does it. But I like these times, I get to think about everything, properly everything. It can get me down, but then I always like to solve problems, and since I have some, but not many, I do my best.
I rarely succeed…
I’m good at helping other people with their problems, as is most likely you, and everyone else on the planet, so I won’t dwell on that much, as I’m sure me acting like I have problems you don’t, is just going to make you frustrated.
So let’s have problems together! :D
I say I have problems. What I mean is I have small quandaries, like making time for friends. Which again is not really on the point of the statement. So again, I’ll expand. What I mean by this is that I find it difficult to get places. I only have a bus in my area to get places, which in itself isn’t bad, I mean some people have it worse, but at the same time, I have no job, and buses, well buses cost money. I do however have family with a car, which I don’t like using as I feel I lean on them too much for lifts around, but if I hadn’t moved from my previous house I wouldn’t have this problem, but that’s a different story and problem all together.
But this lack of effective transport means a couple of things really. I can in fact, like any other person, fall further away from friends, as although a somewhat effective means of communication, texting and skype/facebook, isn’t great. Small talk, isn’t great. I find when in person you find things to talk about, which is better, of course. Which is what I want. But a problem that stems from this is not getting ‘out there’ anymore. By which I simply mean, meeting more people, since friends generally lead to more friends if they already have friends prior to meeting you.
So there in lies my problem and the purpose of this blog, if there even was one.
This is why I usually lose myself in my thoughts, these are the things I think to myself about, and these are the things I shouldn’t need to think about, not because I feel a superiority of thinking people should like me, no, I just think about how I can’t make myself useful to my friends, I want to meet up with them, I want to be able to help them, and I want to keep in contact with them.
I’m not sure how this blog came across, hopefully not pretentious or similar, and I’m not sure if it’s been all that entertaining, or worth the read. If you read it, thanks, I know it was probably too long.
Thanks for reading :)
